Course Description
The purpose of this course is to equip teachers with the knowledge of the components of oral language, their impact on literacy, and how to strengthen oral language in the classroom. Most importantly, this course provides teachers with the necessary tools they need to meet the needs of all students, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

By the End of This Course You’ll Be Able To
- Teachers learn the systems that make up language including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and social communication as well as the importance of oral language in the classroom environment.
- Teachers are intentional about implementing instructional oral language routines throughout the day to build every child’s receptive and expressive language skills.
